On tonight's A Different Nature we are pleased to present the first of two Brian Eno specials.
Brian Peter George St. John Le Baptiste De La Salle Eno was born on May 15th 1948 in rural Suffolk, England. He attended Ipswich School of Art and the Winchester School of Art, primarily studying visual art. In 1971 he joined Roxy Music and appeared on their first two lps, after which he left the band and began releasing the four solo lps for which he is best known until he collaborated with David Byrne on the groundbreaking My Life in the Bush of Ghosts lp in 1980. In tonight's show we will focus on these influential years, playing tracks from his work with Roxy Music, his solo records as well as the recordings made with Phil Manzanera, Quiet Sun, 801, Matching Mole, Bowie and finishing up with My Life in the Bush of Ghosts.
Tonight's selections will represent his "Art Rock" side and the next special (to air in the next month or so) will delve into his more experimental, minimal work such as with Moebius and Roedelius, Jon Hassell, and his "ambient series".
Tonight's host is Dr. Zomb
