Lambda Literary Award Finalist LGBT Authors
Tune in Tuesday, March 31st as OutLoud host Carla talks with local Lambda Literary Award finalists including Curve magazine Editor-in-Chief and B6 burlesque dancer, Diane Anderson-Minshall, author of the erotic thriller, Punishment With Kisses. They will be joined by several contributors to the anthology Portland Queer: Tales from the Rose City, including KBOO’ Gender Blender co-host Jacob Anderson-Minshall, Dexter Flowers, and Wayne Gregory. Portland Queer, edited by Ariel Gore is also a Lambda finalist (albeit in another category). Other authors represented in the anthology include Marc Acito and Tom Spanbauer.

Speaking of Spanbauer, the author of Now is the Hour, will be a featured author at the next QLiterati! Event, being held at the Q Center on Mississippi, April 14th - 7:00-9:00pm

QLiterati! host Tracy Schatz will tell OutLoud about the latest QLiterati! which is focus stories and conversation about “coming out” in both the literal and literary sense and also features Rodger Larson (What I Know) and Kelly Jeske (contributor to Who‘s Your Mama?), as well as offering an open mic.

Another guest on Tuesday’s OutLoud will be Heather Perkins founder of ElectroGals and organizer of April 8th’s ElectroGals benefit, which will support electronic music by women. The benefit concert will feature music by Perri Lynch, Kaya Oneida, Gypsy Café, Myshkin, Linda Austin and Christi Denton.

This being a fundraiser, there will also be a RAFFLE! Prizes will include a home-made, pencil-mounted-theremin, delicious beer from local micro-brewers Captured By Porches, CDs - AND an electric guitar that will be signed by all the ElectroGals artists at the June 27th show! Raffle tickets will be $1 for one, 12 for $10, and 25 for $20. CDs from each artist will be on sale at the show too, as well as hand-screened, limited-edition ElectroGals T Shirts! ElectroGals 2010 Benefit Show, Thursday, April 8th 9pm - 11pm at the Mississippi Pizza Pub, 3552 N Mississippi Ave, Portland OR $5 - $15 sliding scale, at the door.
