Well-read Red: contradictions of housing under capitalism and organizing for tenant control

Well-read Red, Frann Michel, offers a set of short readings* on housing as a human right, the contradictions of human need vs. profit, and the success of direct collective action by tenants in establishing housing as a truly public good. In addition to these readings, she mentions Oregon State House Bill 2564, which is currently being considered and would repeal Oregon laws prohibiting inclusionary  zoning, as well as The Portland Solidarity Network and The Right to the City Coalition. Begining with a musical clip, host Joe Clement also offers remarks before and after Frann's WRR, and notes three successful Renters Assemblies recently held and looking to be repeated by organizers.
