speaking about foreclosure...

according to the 2010 u.s. census, the black population is only 1.8% in the state of oregon, and 6.3% in the city of portland.   and in 2010, black home ownership dropped to 32.4% (from 38.2% in 2000).

part of the reason for this lowered percentage is due to gentrification and predatory lending by banks.  angelah hill is one person who has experienced the ordeal of almost having her home immediately foreclosed on.  her home was purchased by freddie mac (from wells fargo); they then tried to pull her from her home.  with some research and community support, angelah filed a list of complaints.  as of now, ms. hill has not been evicted.  however, freddie mac will be responding to this list of complaints; and thus, the fate of her current living situation is of temporary releief.
