The Firesign Theatre visited KBOO studios last night and completely took over the airwaves for a solid two hours!
It was fantastic! The four or five crazy guys went on completely unscripted (at one point, Phil Proctor picked up some mislaid minutes from a station meeting and started riffing on it), without dropping a beat. I don't know how they do it. It was hilarious and made for a great night of thoroughly entertaining radio.
They're here in Portland, doing a two night stand at The Winningstad Theatre on December 9th and 10th (Ticket information can be found here), celebrating the 40th anniversary of their seminal comedy album "I Think We're All Bozos On This Bus," which they'll be performing live. There will also be audience participation, with a lucky winner coming up on stage and delivering a line.
