On this edition of Century: Psilocybin in Washington State.
A bill under consideration by the Washington state legislature would allow licensed clinicians in that state to administer psilocybin products to qualifying patients. Senate Bill 5921, Concerning Psilocybin, was approved by the Senate Committee on Health and Long-Term Care on February 3 then referred to the Senate Ways and Means Committee. The HLTC Committee held a public hearing on the measure January 27. On this edition of Century we hear testimony from that hearing including from the bill’s lead sponsor, Washington State Senator Jesse Salomon; Dr. Edward Cates; Dr. Darcy Constans; Brian Kennedy from Marriage and Family Therapy Associates; Tamara Greenwell; Rachel Cervenak with the Responsible Entheogen Access and Community Health Coalition of Washington; Rebecca Mains from Botanical Regulatory Consulting; Dr. Rebecca Allen with the Washington State Psychiatric Association; retired firefighter Matt Thierfelder; and retired Marine Matt Kress
