James Fadiman, PhD, discusses his book, "The Psychedelic Explorer's Guide"

James Fadiman, Ph.D.,discusses how old and new research on psychedelics shows their potential to enhance not only our personal well-being, but also the well-being of the culture at large. Fadiman, author of The Psychedelic Explorerer's Guide - Safe, Therapeutic and Sacred Journeys, studied with Dr. Richard Alpert (AKA: Ram Dass) at Harvard and pioneered research into LSD in the early 60's when it was still completely legal. His book covers how psychedelics can aid spiritual growth, therapeutics, and problem solving while emphasizing that for each of these, the intention, setting, substance/dosage and presence of a guide are of critical importance. He also looks at the latest research with extremely low micro-doses for improved cognitive functioning and emotional balance. Listeners call in with questions. Hosted by Stephanie Potter.
