Tonight's edition ofTalking Earth, hosted by dan raphael, features Portland poets Laura Winter, Flavia Rocha and Jennifer Perrine. dan will also read a couple poems by non-Portland poets. 

Laura Winter is the author of poetry collections, broadsides and performance projects. Several of her poems have been translated into multiple languages. Winter’s new book, noble scratch, roughly spoken, features visual artist Brad Winter. She performs with musicians, nationally and internationally, using language as an instrument. Winter encourages everyone to read a poem out loud.

Flavia Rocha is the author of four books of poems published in her home country, Brazil including Exosfera, Um País, and Quartos as well as the children's book O Jardim de Erica. For 13 years she was the editor-in-chief of the literary magazine Rattapallax. She has been living mostly in Portland, OR, for the past 15 years.

Jennifer (JP) Perrine is the author of five books of poetry, including Beautiful Outlaw (forthcoming in 2025), Again, and The Body Is No Machine. Their latest poems and essays appear in Five Minutes, Nimrod, Poetry Northwest, Orion Magazine, and Essential Queer Voices of U.S. Poetry, and Cascadia Field Guide: Art, Ecology, and Poetry. Perrine
