On today's episode, we welcome Kathleen McFall and Clark Hays, authors of the new novel Kitchen Heat: A Restaurantland Romance. Kathleen and Clark are writing partners and a couple in real life, going on 26 years of marriage. Their previous books include four novels in The Cowboy and Vampire Collection, the Bonnie and Clyde trilogy, which includes the novels Resurrection Road, Dam Nation, and Radioactive, and the Halo Trilogy – Gates of Mars, Scorched Earth, and Mars Adrift. Kitchen Heat is their eleventh book, all but the first published by their own imprint Pumpjack Press.
The books share a common recipe --genre fiction, such as westerns, horror, spy novels, and science fiction, seasoned with lessons in U.S. history, a concern for progressive issues and social justice, and a healthy dose of humor. All guaranteed, as they say, to entertain and enlighten. Which is a perfect dish for Jonesy's own peculiar tastes.
