On this edition of Prison Pipeline: Policies Grounded in Health, Human Rights, and Justice.

In preparation for its 2024 Mid-Term Review, the UN’s Commission on Narcotic Drugs has been conducting a stock-taking of progress made in addressing several challenges that were identified in CND’s 2019 Ministerial Declaration. These thematic discussions have consisted of two intersessional meetings, the first from October 23 to 25 and the second from December 4 to 6. We hear from Ambassador Laura Gil, Permanent Representative of Colombia to the United Nations in Vienna; Emily Christie, Senior Adviser in Human Rights and Law at UNAIDS; Helen Tigroudja, a law professor and member of the UN’s Human Rights Committee; Boyan Konstantinov, Policy Specialist in HIV, Health and Development at the UN Development Programme; Nazneen Damji, Policy Advisor on Gender Equality, Health and HIV at UN Women; and Ann Fordham, Executive Director of the International Drug Policy Consortium.
