Washington County District Attorney candidate Brian Decker joins host Karen James for an hour-long discussion about issues facing the County. Voters have two choices for district attorney for Washington County in the May 2022 election.
Over the course of the Obama administration, Brian worked in the criminal justice system in three different roles: first he served as law clerk and bailiff to a trial judge, then he joined a county public defense agency to represent impoverished people charged with felonies, and finally he became an Assistant United States Attorney. Brian served as an AUSA until 2016, overseeing complex investigations into criminal conspiracies and public corruption. Brian prosecuted crimes like trafficking in illegal guns, poaching in National Parks, destroying protected natural resources, and looting ancient indigenous artifacts.
For the past four years, Brian worked as a public defender in Washington County, advocating for justice for disadvantaged children and adults in our community.
