Bill Resnick talks to Norman Solomon, a nationally syndicated columnist who founded the organization Roots Action, which mobilizes behind policies that actually address the immense economic, social, racial and environmental problems facing our country, including Medicare For All, Green New Deal, cancelling student debt, cutting the military budget, and substantially raising the minimum wage. Bill and Norman discuss the Democratic Party, much of whose activist base supported Bernie Sanders and the radical version of the Green New Deal. They consider whether the Party’s Progressive Caucus, with now over one hundred members in the U.S. Congress, can enlarge to take over the Party. They also  discuss whether this political force allied with the climate action and justice movements might be able to lead the reconstruction of the U.S. economy to meet the challenge of global warming.
