Learn about Human Trafficking and Slavery in Oregon from the voices of those who's jobs have them confront this modern day horror every day. Host Linda Olson-Osterlund interviewed Deputy Kieth Bickford chair of the Oregon Human Trafficking Taskforce, the organization tapped to help bring together the myriad number of federal, state and local agencies involved in combating trafficking. Oregon is a West Coast destination city and trafficking hub for sex trafficking of underage minors. James Pond founder and President of Transitions Global, a shelter care program for rescued victims, talks about the particular problems and needs of underage victims of trafficking. Chris Kilmer of Oregon Catholic Charities program serving immigrant victims of Human Trafficking describes the victims they see and the services they deliver. Amrit Djillon immigration attorney with Catholic Charities, describes the victims she represents. Theycome out of enslavement in domestic servitude or forced labor in agriculture, foresty and construction. She describes the differnt types of visas she works to get so her clients can remain in the country and recieve essential services while the court cases are being persued.
