In 1993 my dad, who was caring for my mom, died suddenly and unexpectedly. Mom could not live on her own, and she moved in with me here in Oregon. Because it all happened so fast, I had to learn on the job, so to speak, and the learning curve was really steep. In this final episode of the caregiver series, I talk about my experiences taking care of my mom, share some of the lessons I learned during that stressful but rewarding time, and compare my experience with the local folks we’ve met in the previous six episodes.
