Music and live programming to give voice to untold stories of Filipino Americans

October is Filipino American History Month (Part 1)

Tune in from 6 p.m. to midnight for the Filipino American History Month Takeover with KBOO's Pamela Santos (Bread and Roses) and DJ Grimrock (One Two, One Two ZULUUUUU!!!). For Part 1, check out music, interviews and live programming that give voice to largely untold stories of Filipino Americans who have shaped American culture and the course of history. Part 2 with more music, especially on Fil-Am contributions to hip hop, influences and live programming to follow.

October is recognized as FAHM to honor the first recorded presence of Filipinos in the continental United States. On October 18, 1587, “Luzones Indios” came ashore from the Spanish galleon Nuestra Senora de Esparanza  in Morro Bay, California before America was America.
