Social media/Multimedia Intern Job Description

KBOO’s social media intern assists with maintaining and updating KBOO’s presence on social media, as well as livestreaming in-studio music performances and off-site events. KBOO’s main social media platforms are Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and our social media goals are to drive traffic to our website http://kboo.fm – specifically to the many, many great KBOO audio recordings that are posted on the website.

Summary of essential job functions

The intern will assist with social media content creation and posting including: filming live in-studio music performances, live streaming public affairs interviews, researching influencers and relevant current events and discussions, audio, video and photo editing and building the KBOO social media presence on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (and possibly other platforms as time permits). The intern may also be asked to assist with posting and editing content on the KBOO website. The social media intern will be tasked with researching social media handles of guests, hashtags of events and topics, basic background information on public affairs topics and musicians, and related trends, topics and groups.

KBOO is a strong promoter of locally produced programming. The atmosphere is hectic and stimulating. The ability to work in this kind of environment is essential.

Minimum requirements

Social media familiarity and usage, computer skills, ability to navigate the internet and conduct online research.

Preferences

Photography experience a plus, graphic design experience is also helpful, some knowledge of current events and/or local music scene also a plus.
