Upcoming "Jazz In The Afternoon" programming - thru August

Today's show will feature a tribute

to the late Richard Applegate,

known to most of us as Dick Blake.

Please see "Schedule episode"

for July 13 for details.

This will be my only program for July.

David Lifton's fine program "A Jazz World"

will be heard the last 2 Wednesdays of July.

I plan to do every Wednesday in August from 2 to 4 p.m.

while David takes some time off.  Watch for the following:

- Tribute to the late Ray Bryant

- Portland's cutting edge: Rich Halley/Andrew Hill/Esperanza Spalding

- Train songs, featuring Wynton Marsalis' CD "Big Train"

- Gene Krupa special with hoped-for special guest Steve Brockway of KKUL-AM

- Tribute to Warren Bracken with planned special guest Lorna Bracken Baxter

I will also host KBOO's live remote broadcast, from noon to 3 p.m.,

of the Cathedral Park Jazz Festival, Saturday, July 16,

our first from this festival.

My sincere thanks to all of you who are contributing KBOO members

and who choose to listen to all of KBOO's jazz programming.

With regards,

Bob Riddle
