Introducing the world premier of the live Radio Play
"Ten Cents a Dance" written by Dennis Nyback, who will also appear in the cast.

The story is set in the autumn of 1941 and concerns a young man who dodges the draft by impersonating  a woman and gets a job in a New York City Dance Hall as a hostess. Song and dance, murder and mayhem, wisecracking and wit, and love, follow.  It will feature songs from the era including Ten Cents A Dance (1930  Rodgers and Hart),  I've Got a Crush on You (1928 George and Ira Gershwin),  Get Yourself a New Broom (1933 Harold Arlen and Ted Kohler), You Brought a New Kind of Love to Me (1930 Fain, Kahel and Connor) and others.

Dennis Nyback previously created the stage review "Can't We Be Friends" in Seattle that became the basis for the PBS American Masters production "Yours for a Song:  The Women of Tin Pan Alley."  His article "Seattle Art and Grind" was included in the 2010 book From the Arthouse to the Grindhouse.   Excerpts from that essay are now part of the Celluloid Seattle exhibit at the recently opened  Museum of History and Industry in Seattle.  He currently is a critic for Portland Stage Reviews.
