LGBTQ Meaningful Care Conference is happening Friday April 11, 2008 at the Convention Center. This is an all-day best-practices conference for health care and social services professionals.The LGBTQ Meaningful Care Conference is a key local effort to improve the health of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people (LGBTQ) by training health professionals how to work effectively with LGBTQ patients.You can register for the conference on the website. CME & CEU hours are available. Workshop sessions are also detailed on the website. There is a great resource list, including audio from interviews with conference organizers and presenters on the Out Loud and Health Watch radio shows.The conference celebrates National LGBT Health Awareness Week, a nationwide event organized by the National Coalition for Lesbian Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Health. This organization works to improve the health and well-being of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals and communities across the U.S. through public education, coalition building and advocacy.
