Empty Nest (Argentina 2008)
Director: Daniel Burman
With: Oscar Martinez, Cecilia Roth, Ines Efron, Jean Pierre Noher, Eugenia Capizzano
Slow-moving, dull and ultimately very annoying. Violates Rule Number One of fiction writing: never end a story with “and it was all a dream.” Okay, that would normally spoil the whole movie, but the bad screenplay from a cliched script takes care of that from the beginning. The director has a good reputation, and Cecilia Roth is one of my favorite actors in the world, but she doesn’t have much to work with here. Save your money.
