Hey everyone, the Portland Sinfonia Phonographic Orchestra needs you ! We did this last time and I'd like to do it again only this time zeroing in on the one piece that was most successful, what I am calling the "Sound Effects Suite". I want a dozen or so turntables all strung together via mixers each manned by someone who on my cue will drop their needle at the start of their sound effects record.

The needles will all drop at once and the piece will run its "chance composition" course and then its over when the last sfx has finished. Should take about 20 - 30 mins.

I will supply the records and I can probably round up at least 4 turntables and a couple mixers, so I'll need help from you all to supply the rest. If every participant can bring 1 turntable that would be good and if anyone has small 2-3 channel mixers we'll definitely need a few of those. DJ's ? The TT's do not have to be dj quality as long as they are functional. You would need to show up an hour before we go on in order to set them all up and work out the inevitable bugs. I'm hoping for an afternoon slot on a weekend.

If you've got a particularly juicy sfx lp you'd like to bring, go for it, but I will be making sure that two of the same lp will not be played. And I prefer the type of sfx lp that has a variety of sounds as opposed to something like a railroad sounds record. But I've got a lot and have access to more so the records aren't gonna be a problem.
