Radio Lost and Found playlist for 03/09/2012
I had rigorously planned this month's show and packed it up and found out during my day job (I live several miles from work and the station) that Peter Bergman of The Firesign Theatre had passed away that morning. I plan on doing a tribute show of sorts in the near future.
The first quarter of the show was dominated by the Pay It All Back mix, something I'd been working on lately.
We also heard a some brand new Neung Phak and a lovely album by Yamantanka/Sonic Titan, some horrendous Song Poem creations by the bottom-of-the-barrel song sharking outfit Royal Master Recordings, some of the awesome Bongo Joe recently reissued by Mississippi Records, newly reissued Yma Sumac and a bit of Music from Saharan Cellphones (also on Mississippi Records - I forgot I had just bought it and only found it in my crate at the end of the program - expect to hear it in the future).

Radio Lost and Found playlist for 09/09/2011
This month’s Radio Lost and Found occurs on the weekend of the anniversary of 9/11, an even that inarguably changed this country forever. Somehow, the terrorist attacks of that day managed to sweep anything resembling popular liberal concepts, such as social justice, economic fairness, civil liberties, etc., permanently off the table and transformed us into a cruel, dwindling empire.
Also, take a look who’s cleaned up in the aftermath of 9/11 and who its most cynical exploiters are.
Ok, enough sermonizing.
Here’s the show. I did a sort of ambient mix of 9/11 sounds about half an hour in, with some truly horrid patrio-psychotic stuff thrown in the mix.
Happy 9/11!

Radio Lost and Found playlist for 08/12/2011
Another Radio Lost and Found for an unseasonably cool August.
We listened to some crazy looping sounds from Mary Poppins, courtesy of People Like Us, mixed in with sounds of London riots, courtesy of YouTube. We also heard some spoken word stuff from the wonderful and rare comp. English As A Second Language from the mid-eighties, some of Dan Warren's peculiar re-tooling of Obama's audio book, some Lovely Little Girls - a ROI-ish outfit from Chicago and a strange little children's sleep education record.
