How do Portland Neighborhoods create Local, Independent Economies?
Hosted by Lisa Loving
The Question of the Day is "How do Portland Neighborhoods create Local, Independent Economies?"
In studio are Spencer Burton and Rashaan Muhammad from the Boise-Eliot Outdoor Market, two local entrepreneurs working to do just exactly that. Their new market in North Portland (Fremont @ WIlliams) is geared to sell Local Stuff to Local People, right there in the 'hood. It's a place for neighbors to meet and greet neighbors, local artists, farmers, musicians, street performers, and, most importantly, support a small, local, neighborhood market exchange.
