Children's author Renee Watson writes about resiliency and hope
Hosts Patricia Welch, and Emma Jackson Ford speak with children's author Renee Watson, who discusses her two newly-released books: "What Mama Taught Me" and "A Place Where Hurricanes Happen," a tale of Katrina as children saw it. Renee Watson was born in New Jersey but grew up in Portland and attended Jefferson High School. She studied creative writing at The New School in Manhattan and graduated with a certificate in drama therapy.
