GENETICALLY MODIFIED PLANTS
Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility, or PEER, sued the federal government under The Freedom of Information Act to release documents detailing its relationship with the agricultural biotech industry.
In what the White House says is an effort to boost exports, the targets of the lawsuit -- the White House Trade Representative, Office of Management and Budget, And the State Department – have been trying to remove barriers to the increase of genetically engineered crops, even on national wildlife refuges.
KBOO’S Joe Lino spoke with Kit Douglass, the Staff Council for PEER about the lawsuit.
