Notwithstanding the many really great aspects of living in Portland, most of our media is still highly corporatized. But we also have many publicly supported stations, and KBOO is truly unique among them by operating as a noncommercial, listener-supported, volunteer-driven, community radio station. Roughly 90% of our annual operating funds come from local sources, most of it from individual members.
There are several ways you can support KBOO.
By becoming a member, you are directly helping keep independent radio on the airwaves in the Portland metro area, the Willamette Valley, the Columbia River Gorge, and online. Members elect our Board of Directors, which sets broad policy for the station, and many actively participate on committees or as volunteers.
You can also put your employer’s money to work for KBOO. Many businesses will match your paid donation to KBOO dollar for dollar, or even double or triple it at no additional cost to you. This is a simple way to double every single contribution you make to KBOO.
You can also include KBOO in your will; donate stocks, bonds or real property. Please contact our development department about these options or other ideas you may have.
KBOO Community Radio never trades, rents or sells any donor personal information.
We only release member information if legally required.
