Bill Resnick talks with Diana Donlon, Director of the Food & Climate Program at the Center for Food Safety.
Donlon is author of the report Soil Solutions to Climate Problems, about how capitalist agriculture is ruining the planet's soil. She and Bill discuss the little-known soil crisis, in which capitalist agriculture is mining the soil, causing great soil loss and soil degradation, which threatens food supply across the planet. Restoring soils, party through returning atmospheric carbon, will not only restore fertility and produce more nutritious food; it will also remove vast tonnage of CO2, the major greenhouse gas. Reforestation and agroecological farming can greatly reduce greenhouse gas concentrations.
