DK Holm, film reviewer for http://vanvoice.com/film_tv , talks about the new releases Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, starring Gary Oldman, and The Adventures of Tintin, a stop motion animated feature, directed by Steven Spielberg. And, Fortunato joins in with some thoughts on the proposed feature film to be adapted from the BBC's long running science fiction TV series, Doctor Who.

 DK Holm, film reviewer <www.vanvoice.com> recommends the upcoming release of the DVD version of  12 Angry Men(1957), starring Henry Fonda, Lee J. Cobb, Jack Weston, Martin Balsam, and Jack Klugman. Fortunato offers up the new release staring Johnny Depp, The Rum Diary. Which is based on an early novel by Hunter S. Thompson.  Also, announcements of upcoming screenings of films by Sergei Eisenstein and F.W. Murnau.

Singer/songwriter Margomay joins Fortunato to cohost the Sampler. Besides playing a couple of songs from her upcoming CD, live in the studio. She talks about her songwriting, as well as her brief appearance on the 9th season of American Idol. We also let her loose in our music library to select some of her favorite CDs to play during the show. 

Folk and blues guitarist Dorian Michael talked to us on the phone last week. We talked about his upcoming appearances around the Pacific Northwest, his music background growing up in the blues/folk scene in L.A., and even about tuning guitars and the different types of woods used in making the instruments. But because we were a bit carried away with our show of Movie Soundtracks and TV Themes, we could only air part of the interview. This is the whole discussion with music inserts.And, Dorian said he'd try and come by the studio for our Labor Day Cookout show on Sept.5th.
