Human Electric Hybrid Bikes
I'm a bike commuter and I ride an Optibike, an electric assist bicycle. My bike is only one of two in Oregon but it is only one of many types being used here in Portland . In fact, Portland has its own Ebike industry and the number of E bikes stores is expanding, including Bike Gallery. I think this technology will expand the bike community and should be addressed by the KBOO Bike Show. Take a look at the Optibike web site and if you'd like to see one, contact me.

Biking with Kids
In 2007, I was privileged to bicycle 4500 miles with 11-yr-old Tala, her two-yr-old twin sisters, and their mother. We rode from Corvallis, OR, to Washington, DC, by way of San Bernadino, New Orleans, and St. Louis for peace and sustainability. It was wonderful fun.
Prior to that I raised my own daughter with a kid stoker kit on a Burley tandem. Biking with kids is ideal.
