DJ ManRich, here...

I filled in for The Pickle Sisters in exile, playing stuff that I've been playing alot at work and home lately, namely the new Orb album and the new live recording of King Crimson. We heard a few pieces of time from New Wave Theater. We also looked at the terrible dangers of psychedelic mushrooms and learned about altered states of consciousness from Uncle Bob, even though he's been gone for years. There was also that bit of weirdness courtesy of Shinya Tsukamoto's classic Tetsuo The Iron Man and its spooky industrial soundtrack by Chu Ishikawa.

I was sleepy, but managed to keep the airwaves filled with strangeness. A few people called to chat and someone wanted something but couldn't remember who did it or what it was called.

I know this is a long shot based on the history of your updates, but... I was wondering what the speech was, given about the ying and yang etc, by a european, in the jungle?

this is some kind of joke?

this page is some kind of joke?  these comments and the playlist are two years out of date?!

saturday show 11/21/2009

i was wondering what the name of Eastern sounding musician is that you were playing saturday.  You were playing it and would every so often play a Wilco song in the middle of it.

Sat. morning 2/7/09

Hi,
Good show. While returning home early Sat. morning I had the pleasure of listening to your show. Around 5:10am there was a "reggae", or "rock steady" or "insert vaguely jamaican genre with accents on the upbeats" song with great vocal harmonies surrounding a phrase that sounded like "lead me, lead me to(on) my darlin', lead me, lead me ____ home".
Can you help me identify this track?

Mind you, this is from memory, and the original signal was coming through a broken car stereo as I tried to avoid being hit by the swerving driver in front of me. As such, I may be slightly inaccurate on the lyrics or time. Hopefully you can help.

Keep on,
j

Pickle Feather DJ,

Can you tell me what it was you were playing at 4:40pm on 9/12? Two tracks: a fat bari sax tune followed by a i think a quintet (tenor sax, trumpet, piano, bass, drums) in which the sax had an amazing tone and was imitating the piano on this one high note sometimes on sometimes off. Loved it! let me know, thanks,

Pedro
