interview with alexyss k. tylor, of vpowerTV (part one)!!!
DISCLAIMER: THIS INTERVIEW HAS LANGUAGE AND CONTENT SOME MAY DEEM OBJECTIONABLE. MUCH DISCRETION IS ADVISED.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
what exactly can one say about alexyss k tylor, without stumbling into utter cliche or travelling into euphemism (for those 'sensitive' folk)? the truth is, you have to meet her to figure out a word for yourself.
at all points undefinable and inimitable by ANY basic term, atlanta, georgia-based ms. alexyss k tylor is not one who plays around. you have got to get your act (and your words) together when speaking with her. even with someone like me who does radio, admittedly this is not always easy. one interview with this laconic (and ICONIC, to a growing number of people) woman is never going to capture her range- the humor, the warmth, and the love for what she does. what you ALWAYS get though, is her brand of truth and conviction. some may see it as brash, vulgar or 'politically incorrect' but it is a truth she stands firm in. and that is phenomenally admirable.
known mostly as a 'sex guru', ms. tylor is the author of 'spiritual sexuality' and 'vagina power' (which is also the name of the movement she has prompted); she also has a(n) (inter)nationally-recognized television program. she speaks candidly about spiritual sexuality, as well as political issues affecting us.
this is from alexyss' youtube page:
"She is the author of spiritual sexuality vagina power, as well as a talk show host of VPOWER with Alexyss K Tyler!!! She talks about spiritual sexuality vagina power, penis power, sperm power. so many women are used, abused and really misunderstand the power of sex and the beauty of the vagina. we are a sacred temple of divine creation and i am so honored to be a woman and so honored by the women that want to learn about the power of our body. teaches about sex chakras, the auric field and how to use them to reach ultimate orgasms."
at the end of the interview (part 2), ms. tylor has mentioned ways to contact her.
if you have never seen any videos of this stunningly beautiful woman, i suggest you check them out... as i said, there are no words i could write here that would even describe her.
all i will say is that it was an honor to speak with her.

interview with aphrodite jones
this is the interview that appeared on the 20 august episode of 'guess who's coming to radio??!! with aphrodite jones, author of the book 'michael jackson conspiracy'. she has appeared on programs such as: america's most wanted, the CBS early show, geraldo at large, inside edition, montel wiliams, medical detectives and the o'reilly factor.
on 'michael jackson conspiracy' (from aphroditejones.com):
"In June 2005, when Aphrodite Jones made her last appearance on The O’Reilly Factor related to the Michael Jackson trial, she experienced a striking moment of clarity:
"As I made one of my last public comments on the case,” she remembers, “I realized that I had become one of the media bunch who had predetermined the outcome of the trial, wrongly. Many people around me were so sure of Jackson’s guilt. Many reporters had slanted TV and radio coverage to suit the prosecution, and I was one of those folks who had followed that dangerous trend.”
Now, in a new book, Michael Jackson Conspiracy, Jones is setting the record straight. Aphrodite Jones's most daring book ever examines the case against the world's No. 1 entertainer: Michael Jackson.
Inspired by Jones's courageous writing, Thomas A. Mesereau, Jr., Jackson's high profile attorney, has written a powerful foreword for Michael Jackson Conspiracy.
Under the influence of media, the entire world has reached judgments about Jackson. The mainstream media report about him with an implicit judgment, while tabloid media write about him with an explicit judgment. In the face of this barrage of judgment, the resulting perceptions about Jackson have become aligned -- against him. It has become impossible for the public to reconcile its admiration for Jackson's genius musical and artistic talent with the harsh judgments against him. As a result of these seemingly irreconcilable views, it has become easier to ignore the good and focus on the bad.
For years now, we have been duped into believing that there has been only one side to a coin.
With the kind of behind-the-scenes insights that you have come to expect from Aphrodite Jones, Michael Jackson Conspiracy will shock you. Jones provides a fresh look at the man who has been at the center of so much success -- and controversy.
What emerges from Michael Jackson Conspiracy is an image of the vulnerability of the most powerful entertainer in the world.
All of the myths you have been lead to believe will be shattered.
Everything you have come to know about Jackson will be upturned after you read Michael Jackson Conspiracy.
A book which will forever influence the way trials are reported, Michael Jackson Conspiracy will also move you with emotion. And it will help you complete the picture of the most fascinating entertainer in the world. "

motown
Hey I love motown and motown history and it is sorta at the top of my list of interests right now, so if I wanted to offer some insight into your upcoming program, what is the protocol? Is there any way to get involved?
motown
yes, i am actually planning to do another show on motown; i didn't get to fit everything i wanted to fit into the show... my plan is to do something in april. i would like to go more in depth about what i was touching on in the last show... is it possible for a 'person of colour' to be successful in america and not sacrifice or compromise their beliefs? i want to do more in-depth conversations/interviews about that.
i am constantly welcoming people to get involved and have some input for the show, so that is wonderful that you are interested!!! what sorts of things were you thinking about?
speak soon,
peace,
jamilah
Chris (guest for 9-10-09)
Hi Jamilah,
Loved the show tonight - I was really struck by Chris' story and how ridiculously the Portland police handled his situation. It makes me concerned for the future of civic-minded organizations like Copwatch and NoPo Cop Stop which exist to do exactly what Chris was doing - observe & record police conduct and provide that record as a defense to the people who police accuse of wrongdoing.
Would it be possible for KBOO to post tonight's show or, at least, the fifteen minutes that Chris spoke about his encounter with Portland police on your webpage or myspace page? I would be very interested to listen to it again and pass it along to my friends at Copwatch, if that is okay. I believe the segment ranged between 8:45 pm - 9:00 pm. Please feel free to e-mail me with a response - it would be great to hear from you. Thank you very much for your help, and keep up the excellent work!
