Occupy Portland

It's 3;31, & I just heard TJ Africia say that Occupy Portland was going about it in the wrong way. While I respect her opinion, I have to totally disagree. Occupy Portland; as all the other Occupy movements, have been successful at opening up public spaces & starting the hard conversations we haven't been able to have. I feel that Occupy protests have been succesful precisely because they do not have a leader or a set of demands that can be co-opted to pacify the movement. Whether Occupy Portland is shut down tonight or not I hope we all continue the conversations about Capitalism, homelessness, & the rights of the 99%, & continue to change & grow & find new, creative ways of protest!

PROPER!

Love your stuff, Tom. Thanks for recognizing the Muddy winners - wonderful, well-attended celebration Thursday night. Also some fine musicians who did not win. You play it all - new and old, near and far. Rock on!
