KBOO’s Yasemin Cobanoglu spoke with Jamie Partridge of Communities and Postal Workers United about a planned rally in Portland to support the Postal Service.
The Postal Rally for Full Funding and No Delay will take place between 4pm and 5pm on Tuesday, August 25th at the East Portland Post Office located at 1020 SE 7th Ave. Portland, OR 97214.
The movement has three demands of elected officials and Postmaster General Louis DeJoy:
1. Provide at least $25 billion in immediate support for the Postal Service.
2. Stop the mail slowdown policies introduced by Postmaster General DeJoy.
3. Ensure public confidence in voting-by-mail by providing all necessary resources for the most timely delivery of election mail possible.
