A memorial for poet and filmmaker James Honzik

In tonight's edition of Talking Earth, host Walt Curtis plays poems from the 1994 Spoken Word album Talking Rain, and in the second half of the show mourns the passing of local poet and filmmaker James Honzik.  Honzik worked on the film Salmon Poet, a documentary about Walt, and directed The Worriers, a parody film about poetry gangs in Portland.  Walt and board-op Patrick Bocarde also play an audio clip from Honzik's time in New York City.  The Talking Rain segment includes work by Katherine Dunn, Blake Nelson and Carl Hanni.
