"Facing Race," a New Report with Priorities for the Oregon Legislature to Improve Civil Rights

Hosts Celeste Carey and Cecil Prescod speak with Kristina Narayan, with the Asian Pacific American Network of Oregon or APANO, and David Anitok, co-founder, COFA Alliance National Network. (COFA stands for Compact of Free Association, representing U.S. residents from the Marshall Islands, Palau and Micronesia.)
They'll talk about the new "Facing Race" report released last month by a coalition of groups. It outlines priorities for the Oregon Legislature to improve civil rights and criminal justice, and boost fairness in the economy, education and health care.
They'll also discuss how the Oregon’s House Health Committee unanimously passed its first bill of the session last week, asking the state to set up a health insurance assistance program for a group of Pacific Islanders who are legal residents of the state but prohibited by federal law from receiving Medicaid.
