Building a Healthy Community: Health and Housing Experts on Public Health

Health and Health Care Forum with Roberta Hall
Building a Healthy Community, a 4-hour forum in Albany on Jan. 25, brought together health and housing experts working to address the social determinants of health, one major issue being inadequate or outright unhealthy housing. This radio program provides background on the issues and excerpts from panel discussions. It shows that the way Oregon addresses health care, public health, and our enormous housing needs, is changing—but as the experts discuss some of the problems, it seems that this is only the beginning.  They all agreed that more and better collaboration is needed, and the state is ready for it.

Pictured are some of the speakers in the program:  Above, Dr. Kevin Ewanchyna of the Inter-Community Health Network,   Below, Kenny LaPoint of Oregon Housing and Community Services, and a panel of Bill Bouska of the Oregon Health Authority, Frank Moore of Linn County Public Health, Rebecca Austin of Lincoln County Public Health, and Tatiana Dierwechter of Benton County Public Health.
