last journey back to the egg in 2012, featuring a live set from The Golden Motors!

It's the last BACK TO THE EGG episode of 2012, featuring live music from The Golden Motors!

The Golden Motors is a relatively new group fronted by singer/songwriter wunderkind Dan Jones. There is a little something for everyone in this band: Power-Pop, Post-Punk, Loud Guitars, and wry lyrics. Their song "Perfect Flowers" off of their self-titled debut (released this year, you can find it at CD Baby) is indeed just that: PERFECT.

Grateful Dead & Friends on 12/08/12

Air date:
Sat, 12/08/2012 - 12:00pm - 2:00pm
Short Description:
Grateful Dead

I've got a great show lined up for you. We'll kick things off with some old classic Grateful Dead from '69, with a nice St.Stephen>The Eleven. Then I'll feature a few more Dead tracks.

Then we'll move onto a tribute to jazz, since Dave Brubeck passed away this week. As many of you may know that jazz has had a huge influence on the Grateful Dead and bands that have followed in their footsteps. I'll be playing jazzy cuts from Jerry/Merle, String Cheese Incident with Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, Phish and Stanton Moore.

We'll also be giving away tickets as per usual.

Hope you tune in.

A new year, and some new music for our first show of 2013. First, a young band called Ritual Galaxy, who we had to get permission slips from their parents to allow them to perform live in the studio this afternoon. Also, Moongoose Thompson and his new band (((( )))), or "boing" as it is pronounced in cartoons, will perform in our second hour . Don't miss the fun.

A fantastic show featuring live music and guests. First, the unique stylings of We Are Like The Spider transcended our first hour, as they performed in the studio. Starting off the second hour, Raf, of Rafael Vigilantics, delivered some amazing beats and raps. Dennis Nybeck of the Cartoon Institute came in to promote his month long series of off beat, avant guard and little seen cartoons at the Faux Museum . Jamie Leopold stopped in as well as a touring band call Cuckoo Chaos, promoting their upcoming appearances in town.
