As a two-time Peabody award-winning radio producer and writer, Roberts brings national quality to regional arts scene. JAW, A Playwrights Festival & Portland Actors Conservatory
Dmae Roberts features JAW, A Playwrights Festival with Portland Center Stage's Associate Artistic Director Rose Riordan and Playwright Andrea Stolowitz. They talked about this two-week festival of new plays now in its 11th year! Also Producer Tali Singer has a brand new feature piece on a student at Portland Actors Conservatory, Phoebe Southwood, under the direction of Artistic Director Beth Harper. The piece chronicles her preparation for her graduation showcase.

Naseem Rakha & debut novel "The Crying Tree"
Dmae Roberts talks with Oregon Author Naseem Rakha about her debut novel "The Crying Tree" -- the story of a family whose son is murdered. The novel brings to light issues of justice and forgiveness as a mother begins a correspondence with the convicted murderer of her son. Naseem describes her experiences covering an execution and how that experience led her to work on this novel.

Actor Anthony Heald (Boston Public) plays Shakespeare
Dmae Roberts talks with Anthony Heald, star of Boston Public and Boston Legal and such films as "The Silence of the Lambs" is now a resident actor at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. He says that OSF in Ashland is the best experience he's ever had on the stage and wouldn't trade it for anything else. Heald is currently starring in the World Premiere of "Equivocation" and gets to play Shakespeare.

Shakespeare's King Lear and Casting Director Lana Veenker
Dmae Roberts talks with Jeremy Lillie, Curt Hanson and Michael Streeter of the Portland Actors Ensemble's Shakespeare in the Parks series. This summer they'll be performing "King Lear" and "Henry the Fourth, part one" in parks throughout Portland.

Tim Stapleton"Leaning on Everlasting Arms"
Dmae Roberts talks with award-winning visual artist and scenic designer, Tim Stapleton, about his new show, "Leaning on the Everlasting Arms." He is joined by director Eugenia Woods and we hear about his experiences returning to Appalachia after 30 years and how he came to create this play as well as the photographic exhibit.
And in the last part of the show, my production intern Tali Singer, offers us a collage of four young actors at the NW Children's Theatre school as they talk about getting into character.

Imago Theatre's Simple People
