Peace activist Cindy Sheehan on Venezuela

Cindy Sheehan spoke in Portland this week about Venezuela and Hugo Chavez. Sheehan's latest book is "Revolution: A Love Story," the story of Hugo Chavez, Venezuela and the Bolivarian Revolution. Jenka Soderberg recorded her talk.

Cindy Sheehan is an anti-war activist whose son, U.S. Army Specialist Casey Sheehan, was killed by enemy action during the Iraq War. Her website is cindysheehanssoapbox.blogspot.com/

Rachel Bristol on the Oregon Food Bank: Then and Now

Rachel Bristol, chief executive officer of the Oregon Food Bank, or OFB, is retiring at the end of June after decades of work fighting hunger in Oregon. She speaks with KBOO's Kathleen Stephenson about the history of the Food Bank, the importance of the Waterfront Blues Festival as a fundraiser for the Food Bank and current hunger issues in Oregon.

Drone Warfare: Killing by Remote Control

Marjorie Cohn is the past president of the National Lawyers Guild and a professor at Thomas Jefferson School of Law, where she teaches criminal law and procedure, evidence, and international human rights law. She lectures throughout the world on human rights and US foreign policy. She writes extensively. Her last article is titled "Killer Drone Attacks Illegal, Counter-Productive."

The progressive activist Medea Benjamin is co-founder of Code Pink and Global Exchange. She visited Afghanistan shortly after the US invasion in 2002 and learned the reality behind "precision bombs." Benjamin just published a book called "Drone Warfare: Killing by Remote Control," looks at who is producing drones and who the victims are. It also examines the domestic use of drones.
