Vandana Shiva is an internationally renowned voice for sustainable development and social justice. A physicist, scholar, political activist and feminist, she is Director of the Research Foundation for Science, Technology and Natural Resource Policy in New Delhi . She's the recipient of the Right Livelihood Award, the alternative Nobel Prize. Author of many books, her latest are "Earth Democracy" and "Soil Not Oil."

Flute Alliance to break Guinness World Record

Dmae Roberts focuses on the importance of music education with The Flute Alliance. They're staging the Flute Fandango on Aug. 6th at Oaks Amusement Park in Portland. The international gathering of flutists will attempt to break the Guinness Book of World Records. Denise Westby, founder of Flute Alliance and John Gibson, president of The Music Education Assistance Program joins Dmae to talk about kids and music. They'll also play cuts from the recent Flute Alliance Boot camp.
