Deserted: Immigrants in the Desert
For years, people used to migrate into the united states through the cities.
Then in the early 1990’s trade policies began to effect patterns of immigration, . The US began building walls, and sealing urban areas, pushing immigration routes to isolated and more desolate areas, like the desert.
Tonight on Circle A Radio, we’ll talk to Kat Rodriguez, the coordinator for Derechos Humanos, Mike Wilson a humanitarian aid worker, and member of the Tohono O’odham tribe, and we will share a testimonial from an immigrant who recently crossed the desert into Arizona.
