This and next Wednesday evening, Imago Theatre is holding open auditions for equity and non-equity actors, dancers, acrobatics and aerial artists for four different productions. It's Oregon Wild Wednesday from 6 to 7.30pm at Roots Brewery on SE 7th & Hawthorne in Portland, come find out how scientists saved the majestic California Condor from the brink of extinction and the work being done for a possible return to Oregon. David Moen , species recovery biologist with the Oregon Zoo, will take us on a trip around the state to see where condors may one day find a home in the wilds of Oregon. Tonight at 7pm at Café Artichoke on Hawthorne Blvd. is a free lecture with Author Richard Carlin exploring Worlds of Sound, Story of Smithsonian Folkways. Capturing the soundtrack of the world with a microphone and a dream, Folkways founder Moses Asch believed that all that human ears hear is worth preserving. The Folkways story includes legends Woody Guthrie, Lead Belly, Pete Seeger and a diverse array of folk, bluegrass, jazz, world music and so much more! Seating is limited, so call (503) 232-8845. Sustainable Health Abroad is hosting Music Makes Medicine, a fundraiser at the Interstate Firehouse Cultural Center Theatre tonight at 7pm. Three local bands will be playing: Sam Bam Boo, Sneakin' Out and Floating Pointe. Check out their website at sustainablehealthaborad, one word, DOT org.
