The bedtime radio show for grown ups

We start tonight's show with two stories by James Thurber, read by Katherine Dunn. First, "The Dog That Bit People", which relates how, a pet owned by the Thurber family, an Airedale named Mugs, would aways bite strangers who came to the house. James's mother would explain that Mugs was just nervous and was always sorry afterwards. Also, a follow up to one of Thurber's most famous stories about the strange going-ons the members of the Thurber household would get up to when others whould be in bed, "More Alarms at Night". In our second half, Orson Welles returns as Harry Lime in an adventure set during World War 2, entitled "The Third Woman". Corporal Harry Lime, US Army, is about to be court marshaled, but instead is loaned to British intelligence and sent to Lisbon. Where he is to retrieve the location of a secret Nazi rocket base.
