36. Community Calendar

The KBOO Community Calendar may announce events sponsored by nonprofit organizations, government agencies, or community groups. No events sponsored by for-profit businesses shall be announced, unless they are free and of general interest to our listeners. Nonprofit events shall have priority. For-profit events may, however, be announced on appropriate programs as part of a comprehensive events listing.
When possible, at least one item per calendar shall be an event outside the Portland area, but within the listening area.
Any item may be added or removed by the Program Director, News Director, or Public Affairs Director.
The calendar shall be spoken only, with no musical bed. (On 6-19-07, board voted unanimously to temporarily suspend Section 4 of Policy 36 and give the Volunteer Coordinator and Evening News Director the authority to oversee the use of music in the Community Calendar.)
