BOARD OPERATING PROCEDURES

The KBOO Board of Directors is dedicated to the democratic process and public participation in the governance of the station. Therefore, the Board encourages broad public participation in the work of its committees. Except in cases of an emergency or very short timeline, all issues are to come before the Board after discussion and review by an appropriate committee.

Discussion at meetings of the Board of Directors will be open to both Board and non-Board members (the general public). The chair of the Board meeting shall allow reasonable time for public comment before Board discussion of an issue, as well as before a Board vote, but has the authority to set time limits on discussion by non-Board members and to close public discussion prior to deliberation by the Board. For purposes of Board discussion, the Station Manager shall be treated as a non-voting member of the Board.
