Interview about reaction to Supreme Court decision striking down limits on contributions

Host Kathleen Stephenson speaks with Jonah Minkoff-Zern, of Public Citizen. He is the senior organizer for the Democracy is for People Campaign. They discuss today's Supreme Court 5 to 4 ruling in the case McCutcheon v. Federal Election Commission striking down overall limits on campaign contributions.. The ruling does for individuals what Citizens United did for corporations. Specifically, those who can afford to do so can directly contribute up to $5.9 million per election cycle to a single party and its candidates.

Today at 5 PM at Pioneer Courthouse Square the Democracy is for People Campaign is holding a rally to protest the decision and organize around the effort to get an amendment to the Constitution to overturn the 2010 U.S. Supreme Court decision Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission and now McCutcheon v. Federal Election Commission.
