Early Music Vocal Ensemble In Mulieribus presents “Vergene Belle” a Mother’s Day concert of Marian music from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance on Sunday, May 13th at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
Portland - Vocal ensemble In Mulieribus will present a special Mother’s Day concert on Sunday, May 13th at 3:00 in the afternoon at St. Patrick’s Church in Portland.

The Virgin Mary has been honored by composers throughout the centuries. In Mulieribus’ Mother’s Day program will feature music spanning from medieval chant by Hildegard von Bingen to music by the twentieth-century composer, Maurice Duruflé. A special dessert and champagne reception will follow the concert to honor all the mothers in our own lives. This fundraising concert will support In Mulieribus’ first CD recording project in July of 2007. In accordance with their mission statement, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Raphael House, an organization which offers shelter and assistance to women fleeing domestic violence.

In Mulieribus – the Latin phrase meaning “amongst women” – is a select group of talented women singers dedicated to high-quality performance of music written primarily before 1750. We are committed to serving our community with our art, and dedicate a portion of our proceeds to local not-for-profit organizations that serve women in need.
