Interview w. Counter Punch's Jeffrey St.Clair: celebrating Alexander cockburn plus local Obamarama

Hearing Alexander Cockburn High Above the Lonely Electronic Crowd...

Alexander Cockburn passed away on the weekend – a fact mainstream media remains for the most part silent on – and he has left behind an even greater silence.  Cockburn took no prisoners, did not suffer fools gladly and every other cliché in the book.  But the thing about clichés is they often times find their origins in fundamental truths. As an accurate observer and reporter, Cockburn was not a True Believer. And he was intellectually courageous;  by that I mean he had no use for timid liberal filters that prevent Black Block voices from being heard. And that makes their actions that much larger than life…  Say what you like, the Anarchists get the job done.  And if one is willing to listen, a great many of them really know what they are talking about .  Alexander Cockburn’s ear for the layers of truth and vision – that’s what  beats in his words.

Jeffrey St. Clair , Co-editor of Counterpunch with Cockburn,  joins us this morning in remembering Alexander Cockburn.
