Susan Lindauer on her book "Extreme Prejudice"

It's a special half-hour Air Cascadia show. Susan Lindauer is the CIA asset who came close to stopping the Iraq war through back-channel negotiations…only to be arrested and incarcerated in a Texas prison. Her book, ‘Extreme Prejudice’ is a true life spy thriller that goes inside the Iraqi Embassy and FMC Carswell prison hospital.   Lindauer is the featured guest on Air Cascadia for the KBOO News and Public Affairs All-Day Extravaganza.

On the website Daily Censored, I discovered a review of a book, ‘Extreme Prejudice’ by Susan Lindauer.  The review is titled, The Hornet’s Nest Kicked Back by  Michael Collins.  Fiction delivers justice that reality rarely approaches. Stieg Larsson’s gripping Millennium Trilogy weaves a story of revenge and triumphs for Lizbeth Salander, locked away in a mental institution and sexually abused for years. When Salander got out and threatened to go public about a high level sexual exploitation ring, the perpetrators sought to lock her up again. In the final installment, The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest, Salander found some justice.   Susan Lindauer’s autobiography, ‘Extreme Prejudice’, tells a story with certain broad similarities. In her case, however, the hornet’s nest kicked back with a real vengeance.  And in the case of Lindauer, the information she had gathered presented a serious threat to the Bush administration’s plans for war.  She had done her job perhaps too well for the powers that be.  She knew too much.

She was arrested shortly after she attempted to communicate the results of back-channel peace negotiations.  But Susan was not sent to any ordinary prison:  Oh no…Lindauer went to FMC Carswell.  This penitentiary for women is A, In Texas. B, On a military base near Ft. Worth. C, It is a ‘medical’ prison. And D, Carswell is a Communications Management Unit, a CMU.  CMU’s  - and there are only a handful in  the whole country – are beyond constitutional law.  They were created to silence political prisoners who pose a threat to the highly choreographed contortions of a government seeking to keep its people paralyzed by fear.   People rendered harmless by the terrifying prospect of no employment, no means to live;  Still others rendered complacent, kept fat and happy in their jobs;  The majority, willing to believe without question whatever they are told.  And thus it became imperative to stop Lindauer from telling the world what she knew to be true. utterly gullible.
