“Keep Alive the Dream”: A Tribute to the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King
“Keep Alive the Dream”  - A Tribute to the Life & Legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the 1965 Voting Rights Act

World Arts Foundation, Inc. presents its 30th consecutive Tribute to the American hero and world citizen, the Reverend Dr.  Martin Luther King, Jr.  The 2015 Tribute also will include musical tributes to local artists Janice Scroggins and Linda Hornbuckle whose contributions will last us a lifetime.  Special guest and Keynote Speaker Arun Ghandhi will underscore the global struggle for human and civil rights.

The World Arts 2015 Tribute to the 1965 Voting Rights Act was chosen so that we can invite our audiences to appreciate the sacrifices that have been made, as our country strives for a more democratic society.  Our focus for 2014, and beyond, is to utilize the arts in a way that amplifies the importance of educating all of America’s youth about the Civil Rights Movement, the people who made it happen, and its impact today and for future generations.

This year’s program will include an array of community speakers from various civic and social community organizations.  The program will, also, showcase Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s influence on the Voting Rights Act, and the tribute program  will honor him with a variety of outstanding expressions in song, oration, dance and drumming.
